It Was The Best!

So my predictions were correct. Best week ever! I had such a fun week and the great times this weekend tied things up very nicely.
My first viewing of Wedding Crashers was on Friday, and my plan to get a group together worked out really well. There were nine of us, including my friend Jaime from home, at the theater! I loved the movie. I was not disappointed in the least. Vince was just awesome and at the top of his game for sure. He delivered his lines seamlessly, not even giving the audience time to process one joke before throwing another at them. He's just great. The movie not only had good jokes and comedic situations, it had a really good storyline. It had just enough cheesy romance. It was definitely well written, had a good three act plot etc. There's fun cameos by Dwight Yoakam and James Carville (sp?), his second in a Frat Pack movie.
After the movie, the group went out to Grapevine Pub for drinks. It was also great times! We went crazy and danced like idiots. I asked the the DJ if he wanted a screw (wanna screw?) and I got kissed on the cheek by some crazy old guy that liked the girl on girl dancing a little too much. The slight hangover Saturday was not fun, but the night was well worth it.
Saturday day was spent getting my car to the shop, but the evening was spent with Josh and Jonas at Easton. We ate dinner in the church at Fado and then went to Barnes and Noble. Jaime found a book about porn stars at the bookstore and some random guy came up and started looking at it with us. He was impressed that I knew who Peter North (aka Tree Trunk) was. But his being there was just a bit creepy. Okay, a lot creepy.
We played 90s Trivial Pursuit with Jonas and his pretty friend Saturday night. We also had good times with the light saber and the cowboy hat. The evening was so much fun, it didn't end until six in the morning. It picked back up again Sunday afternoon with a run to Steak and Shake and then another viewing of Crashers.
I have to say that it holds up a second time. You catch more jokes. You anticipate lines that are just killer. You get to see more Vince....I mean....what? But I enjoyed the movie a second time. And in true Jonas fashion, he caught some little moment in the film and went crazy with laughter. So we can now place the muddled desert at the engagement party right up there with Ben Stiller eating the hot dog in Starsky & Hutch and Danny Glover's "Boooo!" in Tennenbaums. Good times, good times.
So, in all the craziness this weekend, I was again reminded how great my friends are. I feel like I say this in almost every post, but it's the truth. We have such a good time together. It's as if we've made a family here in Columbus. Sara picks me up from work when my car breaks down, Josh lends me his car, we eat off of eachothers' plates at dinner. I am so grateful that I have the great friends that I have. Thanks for the best week ever guys! I love you.
